Reminder of the 2024 LCA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
AGM Date – Friday – January 19, 2024
To: All Lake Conroe Association Voting Members and Prospective Members
Subject: Annual General Meeting and Election of Board Members and multi topic Town Hall
Location: San Jacinto River Authority Office Third Floor Board Room | 1577 Dam Site Road – Conroe – Gate will be open before meeting at 10AM
Start Time: 10:30 AM Friday, January 19, 2024
It is my pleasure to announce and invite you as a voting member to the Lake Conroe Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the preceding LCA January 2024 Town Hall where we will discuss three timely and critical topics regarding Lake Conroe and impacts on lake area residents and visitors.
All Lake Conroe Association voting members are eligible to vote by proxy or attend in person to cast their vote for LCA Board members. More importantly the LCA wants to hear your views on the critical issues or decisions that will impact all Lake Conroe area residents, recreational users, or water consumers. Seating for up to 100 people who are voting members or those interested in becoming voting members will be available. The meeting details and agendas are provided in the attachments.
We intend to discuss the results of the 2022-2023 LCA efforts that brought about the elimination of arbitrary water releases and a compromise on the Seasonal Lake Lowering Program (SLLP) that will be reviewed and approved soon. The 2024 lowering program compromise is currently under discussion relative to any changes or improvements and will be finalized before the February SJRA Board Meeting. We will also discuss the current hydrilla infestation status and plans for 2024 aquatic species management and goals.
At the AGM meeting, the LCA activities of the past year will be discussed along with the 2024 annual budget, summary of donations, and a discussion of the plans and priorities for 2024. The minutes will be made available one week after the meeting on the LCA website found at https://lcatx.org/.
The LCA has a long history of taking the lead in successful actions to protect Lake Conroe. This would not be possible without our all-volunteer Board and your donations. The LCA is a 501 c 3 charitable entity and your donations are deductible from annual federal taxes. Any donation amount is appreciated but especially from those that choose to become Voting members by giving a contribution of $100 or more annually. Please donate to help maintain our reserve funds so that we can continue our history of stepping in immediately when a major problem faces Lake Conroe. Please use https://lcatx.org/ .
